Reuse

Reuse banner

Reuse is the very best in recycling eliminating reprocessing energy use as the component is simply moved from one location and use to another. Steel is ideal for this type of application with both high strength and long life.

Increasingly a process called 'design for disassembly' is being used. In these processes, components or entire structures made from high grade durable materials are removed and reused.

Examples of reuse

Shipping container bldg• Entire structures

• Building components (beams and columns)

• Drums and gas tanks

• Office partitions

A strong steel framed structure can house many and varied uses over its entire lifetime. Long spans, the ability to disassemble, easy additions and long life enable multiple reuse options for the structure as ownership, economics, transport, local demographics and other factors impact the preferred use over time.
